G'Day, and welcome to Simmo's Offroad Tours. Based at Orange (about 3.5 hours West of Sydney) in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia, we offer a range of "private charter" 4WD Tours exploring the beautiful Orange region and Western New South Wales. We specialise in small group tours (typically 1 to 4 people) offering Local Winery tours, Scenic 4WD Tours encompassing Orange, Hill End, Ophir and Sofala, or, for the more adventurous, overnight Four Wheel Drive Camping Adventures, camping at magical, secluded camp sites along the banks of the Macquarie, Turon or Darling Rivers.
LOCAL WINERY AND PRODUCE TOURS:
The Orange region is renowned for its cool-climate red and white wines. Spend a day with me, discovering the many and varied wines on offer - without the drama of having to navigate or drive from one boutique winery to the next. There are over 40 cellar doors in the Orange region, some with restaurants offering fine cuisine to compliment their award winning wines. The Orange "food basket" also includes a traditional apple cider brewery, orchards, a truffle farm and quaint little coffee shops showcasing local artists and produce. With my local knowledge and passion for food and wine, you can be assured you will experience the finest wines, dining and native scenery Orange has to offer.
SCENIC 4WD TOURS:
Orange and the outlying townships of Hill End, Ophir and Sofala were founded on discoveries of rich gold deposits in the 1870's. From the comfort of my modern, capable, 4WD vehicle, explore some magical bush tracks, and discover how the early Australian settlers worked and survived in those rugged times. We can take a guided tour of a fully-functional underground mine at the renowned History Hill, or simply try our own luck, panning for gold in nearby Tambaroora Creek. Enjoy a counter lunch and a cold beer at the Royal Hotel, or perhaps a cappuccino with scones at Rose Cottage, Hill End.
CAMPING ADVENTURES:
If you have never camped out under the Southern Stars in an Australian swag, or enjoyed a traditonal roast dinner, cooked in a camp oven, join me for a night or two and experience the magical Australian bush. I have access to some fantastic secluded camping spots, from the Orange region, to, literally, the back of Bourke. With my local knowledge, four wheel driving and camping skills, you are guaranteed a safe, relaxing, almost religious camping experience!
