4WD CAMPING ADVENTURE EXPLORING THE CENTRAL WEST

Camping locations include Hill End, Sofala, Ophir, Dunn's Swamp, Newnes, Wollemi National Park, Gardens of Stone National Park, Kanangra-Boyd National Park, Abercrombie River National Park.

Join me as I take my trusty Toyota 4WD, and all the necessary gear, out for few nights to one of my favourite camping spots on the Macquarie or Turon River.  

No neighbours, no noise, no hassles - just the way life was supposed to be.

Sit back in front of a roaring fire with a glass of local cool climate wine, as I set up camp and prepare your traditional baked dinner in my camp ovens.

Arise from your tent in the morning to freshly brewed coffee, toast, bacon and eggs.

We can fish in the Turon River, or try our luck panning for gold, or simply explore the bush to see what birdlife and native animals are poking about. 

Whilst exploring the area we can make tracks into the historic township of Hill End or Sofala and explore the old gold diggings, museum, cemetery and other historic sights (a cold beer and counter lunch at the Royal Hotel goes down pretty well too!).

Western NSW

If you are looking for dramatic Australian landscapes, magnificent wildlife, ancient aboriginal culture, and unforgettable evenings under the Southern stars - well this is a fully-catered Camping Adventure you will love.

This is an all-inclusive "private charter" 4WD Camping Adventure with me as your personal guide, cook and driver. All meals, camping and leisure equipment is included.

Simmo's Offroad Tours are licensed through the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service to provide eco-friendly, 4WD Camping Safaris and guided bushwalks within the magnificent Warrumbungle National Park.

Your tent and sleeping gear is set up for you at Camp Blackman, and your evening meal prepared over hot coals as you sit by the camp fire with a glass of wine.

During the day we take a guided bushwalk around the famous "Breadknife" formation, and take in the dramatic views across this once very active volcanic area.  We visit the Siding Springs Observatory and take a guided tour and learn about our solar system.

We follow the Pincham Trail, and discover aboriginal carvings, rock paintings and other aboriginal artefacts scattered about this ancient area.  There is an abunance of wildlife to photograph, including kangaroos, emus, wedge tail eagles, wombats, possums, an array of birdlife and native lizards.  

The Warrumbungles are truly a magical place to visit  - and a top spot for your special camping holiday.

If you are up for an outback adventure I know a great little camp site on the banks of the Darling River, sandwiched between Bourke and Louth in far Western New South Wales.

We can spend our days exploring the Gundabooka National Park by four wheel drive, fishing, kayaking, or spotting emus, kangaroos, or photographing the birdlife.  Or, we may jump into the 4WD and duck into the historic Louth pub for a cold beer and a counter lunch!  

Nights are spent around the campfire under the clearest skies.  Lay back with a glass of wine and try counting the stars as I prepare your evening meal in the camp ovens.

We can trade a few yarns, or sing along to Slim Dusty for a bit, or we can get out the spotty and see what animals are poking about!
