Based in Orange (about 3.5 hours West of Sydney) in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia, we offer a range of "private charter" 4WD based tours showcasing the natural beauty of Central and Western New South Wales. We specialise in personally tailored 4WD Passenger Tours for small groups -perfect for "couples" , families, or a small group of friends.
Operating 7 days a week, by private charter, Simmo's Offroad Tours offer Local Winery Tours of the Orange and Bathurst Cool Climate Wine Region, Scenic 4WD Tours of Orange, Mount Canobolas, Ophir, Bathurst, Hill End and Sofala, or, for the more adventurous, fully-catered overnight Four Wheel Drive Camping Adventures across Central and Far Western New South Wales.
Of course, if you you own a 4WD yourself and want to "get out there" you may like to join me on an exciting 4WD Tag-a-Long Tour, discovering some great tracks just a few hours out of Sydney.
LOCAL WINERY AND PRODUCE TOURS:
The Orange region is renowned for its cool-climate red and white wines. Spend a day with me, discovering the many and varied wines on offer - without the drama of having to navigate or drive from one boutique winery to the next. There are over 40 cellar doors in the Orange region, some with restaurants offering fine cuisine to compliment their award winning wines. The Orange "food basket" also includes a traditional apple cider brewery, micro-breweries, orchards, a truffle farm and quaint little coffee shops showcasing local artists and produce. With my knowledge and passion for local food and wine, you can be assured you will experience the finest wines, dining and native scenery Orange has to offer. SCENIC 4WD TOURS:
Orange, Bathurst, and the outlying villages of Hill End, Ophir and Sofala enjoyed great prosperity and growth when gold was discovered in the 1860's. Gold fever took hold of Australia, and our population doubled in just ten years as migrants flocked to the colony in search of their fortune in gold. Although the boom years are over, gold is still mined in the area, and alluvial gold can still be found in the Turon and Macquarie Rivers and Summer Hill Creek.
From the comfort of my modern, capable, 4WD vehicle, explore some magical bush tracks with me, and discover how the early Australian settlers worked and survived in those rugged times. Departing Orange, or Bathurst, Simmo's Offroad Tours offer Scenic 4WD Tours to the Ophir, Hill End and Sofala goldfields where we can visit a working underground mine, or we can try our own luck, prospecting for gold in a nearby stream.
Simmo's Spotlight Tours are a great way to explore the area by 4WD, with powerful spotlights to locate and identify a wide variety of native animals that venture out at night! These eco friendly tours feature wholesome camp-style meals which are complemented with great local wines.

4WD TAG-A-LONG TOURS
If you own a four wheel drive vehicle and want to "get out there" and explore some of this great country, you are welcome to join me on a 4WD Tag-a-Long Tour. I am constantly developing new and exciting tours across the Central West of New South Wales, just hours from Sydney, showcasing some great four wheel drive tracks, and interesting little places to visit.
Each of my 4WD Tag-a-Long Tours are personally tailored for you, depending on your particular interests and level of four wheel driving experience, with accommodation options ranging from self-catered camping tours, through to quaint little country pubs or boutique style Bed and Breakfast accommodation.

CAMPING ADVENTURES:
If you have never camped out under the Southern Stars in an Australian swag, or enjoyed a traditonal roast dinner, cooked in a camp oven, join me for a night or two and experience the magical Australian bush for yourself. I have access to some fantastic, secluded camping locations, from the Orange, Bathurst, and Hill End regions, to, literally, the back of Bourke and beyond.
I can provide you and your family a fully-catered overnight Camping Adventure, or, if you own your own four wheel drive and camping gear, you may like to join me on a self-catered Tag-a-Long style camping tour.
